The leadership of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana brings to you warm regards from the National Secretarial.

In pursuant to the recent release referenced TTAG/RLSE/21/006 on August 27,2021, dubbed UPDATE ON THE ENGAGEMENT BETWEEN THE MINISTER FOR EDUCATION AND THE LEADERSHIP OF TTAG. The leadership in the quest to ensure that trainees are accorded prompt solutions have always been in touch with stakeholders in fulfilment of their promises.

As stated in our earlier release, trainees were promised that by 8th September. 2021, a guide would be given by the Ministry of Education on how the payment would be done. The latest development from the leadership’s engagement is that; the Minister for Education has directed the Director General for Ghana Tertiary Education Commission(GTEC) to withhold an equivalent amount of the feeding component that has been paid, and those that are yet to be paid for the entire period trainees were not in school from the processed ones, pending the Minister’s engagement with PRINCOF and TTAG to discuss the way forward on the payment. It is expected that the final engagement with the stakeholders will be done by the end of this month.

That notwithstanding, the National Executive Council in its recent meeting has come out with the next line of action that will be fully executed if all diplomatic means are exhausted without any favorable resolution.

We are through this release informing all trainees that the leadership is in continuous engagement with all stakeholders on this and many other issues.

To this end, we want to once again appreciate the immense effort of the Honorable Minister for Education and the Director General for GTEC in steps taken to resolve this and many other issues. We will continue to implore all trainees to be calm as resolutions are approached.
