Teacher trainees in the Forty-Six (46) public colleges of education have agitated for the payment of their allowance for some months now. The government keeps scheduling the payment of these monies to the trainees.
Information gathered by monitored by igossips.com on Educandghana.net indicates that payment of students’ allowance is scheduled next month-October. A follow-up made by our team last week revealed that the government of Ghana is yet to release funds to the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) for disbursement.
According to SLTF, they work on the orders of the government and nothing else. They have therefore urged all teacher trainees in the 46 public colleges of education to remain calm as they wait on the Ministry of Education and the Government of Ghana to sort things out with them. They also assured all teacher trainees that payment of allowance will be done as soon the government gives them the green light by releasing funds to the trust fund. MORE UPDATES SOON!!
