A Ghanaian living abroad whose name is given as Celestine Ofori has recounted how her Uncle was killed by armed robbers just infront of his house.
According to her, her Uncle who name has been withheld drove from work to his residence in Dodowa close to Accra.
Upon his arrival at his residence, the armed men who were using a motorbike attacked him infront of his residence, took his money and phones and shot and left him dead.
The lady who made this disclosure in a post shared on Facebook said “Arm robbers attacked and killed my uncle last night in his own house, run away with his money and phone”.
Adding that “On his arrival from work, his 2 little children 4yrs and 6yrs didn’t even get the chance to welcome their daddy home. The gunmen were on a motorcycle! How do we explain this to the kids? I can’t sleep la! What’s going on ghana??”
Armed Robbery On The Rise
The spate of armed robbery in Ghana has become a worrying feature of our society as each passing day, there are reports of such attacks on unsuspecting citizens.
Last week, a Policeman who had withdrawn money from Kwashieman Branch of the Bank of Africa was shot twice in the thigh by armed men using motorbikes.
Similar incidents happened at Tema and Weija all in Accra.
Police say they have arrested one bank worker who is allegedly connected to some of these robberies and is currently helping the Police with its investigation.
The Police as a result of the rise in armed robbery in the country has put together the anti armed robbery unit to help in the fight against the menace that has left the country especially the capital of Accra insecure.
