Education Minister teaches final year super KASS students Algebra

The Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum Monday during a surprise visit to the Kumasi Anglican Senior High School (KASS) took the position of a classroom teacher to teach the final year students how to solve elective maths questions.

Dr Adutwum move is in fulfilment of his promise that he will still go to the board and teach in classrooms even after the Parliament of Ghana approves him as the Education Minister.

“I’m a ‘teacher-in-chief’ and when I become the Minister, you’ll see me with a marker teaching in the classroom,” he told the Parliament Appointment Committee.

The teaching Minister teaching encounter lasted 30 minutes during which he taught how to solve numerous complex mathematical questions including Algebra to the students preparing to sit for this year’s WASSCE for School exams.

As part of the tour, the Bosomtwe Member of Parliament presented citations to some 12 Senior High Schools (SHSs) whose students performed outstandingly in the 2020 WASSCE in the Ashanti Region. Tepa Senior High School topped the list and therefore adjudged the best school.
